Music Recommendations

This is a series of sorts, where I intend to share some of my favourite songs over the last month.

Le portrait by Calogero

This is such a beautiful song, albeit very sad. For those of you that don't speak French, the basic premise is that the little boy has lost his mother and often draws her picture around the house and at school, then towards the end we see that this is because he feels her presence around him through his art. Calogero has a beautiful voice which definitely compliments the emotional lyrics.

Aquaman by Walk the Moon

I've been a Walk The Moon fan for several years now. I recently had the chance to see and meet them which was awesome, and which also prompted me to re-listen to all of their songs, as I do have a habit of listening to all of the songs on an album but then only listening to certain ones for a while. 'Aquaman' is one of the songs that I've rediscovered and now love even more. It's quite slow compared to some of their other songs and has a kinda 80's vibe to it. It's also in rumba time so that means I can dance along to it :)

Noise by Gavin Creel

A lot of people will know Gavin from his musical theatre career, myself included, but he does have his own music as well. This is one of his songs that I've always loved, for the music, but also for the amazing lyrics. After the Supreme Court ruling in the US a few days ago regarding equal marriage, I listened to this song again and had to think about how incredible it is that there have been changes made which could effectively change someone's life completely.

Ecstasy by Courtney Act

I became kinda obsessed with Courtney after watching her on Drag Race. So when I saw that she had released a single, I decided to check it out. It's very Kylie-esque and the costumes are amazing!

Bailando by Enrique Iglesias ft. Descemer Bueno & Gente D'Zona

I don't actually speak Spanish, but every time my friends have played it, they have used this version rather than the English version. It really reminds me of my dance friends as we used to salsa to this a lot. It's just really fun and who doesn't enjoy Enrique??
